Growing up, I LOVED He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The live action movie wasn't great...but the classic cartoon and Mattel toys were amazing. Since then, there's been reboots trying to capture the magic of the original. Some projects over the years have been better than others, but none have been truly great.

However, that may be changing this summer based off the first trailer for the new Masters of the Universe live-action film.

I'll be honest, I didn't have high hopes for the new Masters of the Universe movie. Yeah, they had a star-studded cast including Bossier City's Jared Leto. How many bad movies has Idris Elba made? Not many. But still...nobody has been able to capture the original magic.

But based off the new trailer, that may be changing. Because the new film, directed by Travis Knight, seems to be breathing new life into the character and franchise. I have high hopes this could actually be good. Like, really really good!

He seems to have captured the FEEL of the original. Skeletor looks fantastic. Castle Grayskull looks awesome. Right now, I have WAVES of nostalgia running through my veins. I can't wait to see the new flick when it hits theatres June 5th!
