Due to a last minute illness of a member of Survivor, Skid Row will be stepping in as the replacement headliner at the Beartrap Summer Festival on Saturday, Aug. 3rd.

I started by listening to their song “Echolocation” on YouTube…and a few moments in, it struck me that these cats are an instrumental band! Why the exclamation point at the end of that sentence? Because let’s face it – as much as I love good vocals and great harmonies, sometimes it’s really fun/interesting/relaxing/invigorating (and many other adjectives) to hear, really hear, the instrumentation.

Hankerin’ for some strong female-fronted alterna-folk music? Hanker no more – we here at the Beartrap Summer Festival present…Whippoorwill, a folk-rock trio out of Fort Collins.

Closing my eyes and listening to The Riverside feels like lounging outside in the sun on a perfect summer day.

I’m just gonna say it. I have a musical bias – in favor of the cello. Any group that includes this warm, soul-filling instrument (see? Total bias.) is gonna be a hit with me.

Who are Zoe and Cloyd? They’re a husband and wife duo who, in their own words, hail from the opposite ends of the Appalachian Mountains.

At Beartrap Summer Festival, we like to keep things interesting – and that means welcoming groups that bring a little something different to the meadow.
