Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, and absolute living legend, Alice Cooper, is coming to Shreveport this August. Not for a concert, but to meet fans at Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con!

He will be alive at the show this August, and tickets are on sale now. You can get full details on the event, and the rest of the guests, at GeekdCon.com.

Before Alice Cooper gets to town, we should make sure that we've brushed up on his work. Of course we all know the music, "School's Out", "No More Mr. Nice Guy", "Poison", and a ton more. But the thing that really started to separate Alice Cooper from the other rock stars was his wide range of entertainment abilities, and willingness to jump into movie roles and TV appearances.

The horror movie vibe as been a part of Alice Cooper's brand since the start. But over time he was able to literally weave the two concepts together. On the list we will see at least two strong horror films, as well as a bad horror movie, and a non-horror vampire movie. Trust me it will all make sense.

But before we get into those, let's show some love to a horror movie franchise that Alice Cooper contributed to, without actually appearing in one of the movies.

In October of 1986, Alice Cooper contributed the song "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)" to the soundtrack to the movie Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, a song that became the theme for Jason Voorhees. Even though he, Alice Cooper, didn't appear in the movie, the music video was so full of Jason Voorhees that people think that Cooper was in the film.

That's a good honorable mention (kinda), so lets get to the actual movies that Alice Cooper appeared in.

5. Bigfoot

This movie is garbage. I can't find a single good review of it. But It's making it on the list for the absurd scene with Alice Cooper. This 3 minute clip is the best 3 minutes of the movie. Watching Alice Cooper pretend to play a show for about 6 people is funny enough, but then seeing the terrible CGI Bigfoot kicking him is hilarious.

4. Dark Shadows

Alice Cooper doesn't do anything particularly amazing during this cameo, but Johnny Depp's line is a legit laugh out loud line.

3. A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: The Final Nightmare

Its a short scene, but the level of impact the character has in the overall Freddy Krueger universe is pretty big. To have someone of Alice Cooper's standing in pop culture take on that role is pretty solid.

2. Prince of Darkness

A John Carpenter movie with Donald Pleasence AND Alice Cooper? Yes please. Prince of Darkness might be one of the most underrated horror movies of the 1980s. Alice Cooper gets plenty of screen time, and even gets a classic 80s horror movie kill early on.

1. Wayne's World

Come on now, you had to know this would be on top. The scene that spawned so many frequently used movie quotes. Alice Cooper shines with brilliance in this one.

Geek'd Con Lineup 2021: August 13th-15th

After a year off, Geek'd Con is back and we have an amazing lineup! Here's our guest line up for this year's show. If you want to go, you can buy your tickets here.

Legendary Musicians Who Rocked The Hirsch In Shreveport

Here's a sample of the legendary musical acts who have played Shreveport's Memorial Coliseum over the last 60 years. The Hirsch was basically the homefield for bands like Van Halen and ZZ Top, who regularly put the Hirsch near the top of their tours. For that reason, we're actually not going to feature them on this list, because they were basically "house bands" for Shreveport...and that's NOT a bad thing.
