Since 2015, Geek'd Con has been the premiere pop culture event in North Louisiana. It's also the biggest comic con style event in all of Louisiana...outside of New Orleans. The event, sometimes called Shreveport's comic con, has now existed in Downtown Shreveport for over 10 years. This year's event marked the 10th edition of the pop culture phenomenon at the Shreveport Convention Center.

What Is Geek'd Con?

Every year, Geek'd Con hosts hundreds of vendor booths, dozens of celebrity guests, and tens-of-thousands of fans over the weekend. Fans and vendors from all over the United States pour into the Shreveport Convention Center to share in geek culture. From celebrity interactions to award-winning cosplay, Geek'd Con offers once-in-a-lifetime opportunities every year.

How Do You Meet Celebrities At Geek'd Con?

When it comes to the celebrities, you can think of this as a type of meet and greet. Where each celebrity guest will have their own booth set up that you can buy autograph and photos from. All you have to do is get in their line (sometimes they won't even have a line if you get there at the right time) and walk straight up to their table. They will have photos you can pick from, or you can bring your own item. Then for their set price (they keep 100% of the autograph sales) they will sign your item.

This is one of the best ways to support the creators you enjoy, because instead of the money be funneled through a movie studio or TV company, your dollars go directly to the stars.

Why Is Geek'd Con Important To Shreveport?

This is something very important to a city like Shreveport, where "quality of life" events are challenged and hindered regularly. Every summer you hear from numerous attendees with some form of the joyous phrase "I can't believe this is happening in Shreveport".
