Hollywood Star with Inspirational Story Coming to Shreveport
Back in 2015, Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con started in Downtown Shreveport. Not many people probably expected the event to still be going a decade later. But it's 2025, and Geek'd Con is coming back to the Shreveport Convention Center, August 22nd-24th.
This year's guest lineup already includes a 35th Anniversary "Shell-a-Bration" for the release of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Including voice actors Brian Tochi (Leonardo), Robbie Rist (Michalangelo), and martial artists Ernie Reyes, Jr. (Donatello) and Kenn Scott (Raphael). The four Turtles actors will be joined by Francois Chau, who portrayed The Shredder in the TMNT film universe as well.
Ethan Suplee is coming to Shreveport for the 10th Anniversary of Geek'd Con
Many of us met Ethan as Frankie Stecchino in Boy Meets World. Just a few months after first appearing in Boys Meets World, Ethan made his film debut in Kevin Smith's Mallrats as William Black, a young man just trying to see a 3-D puzzle.
From there, Suplee's film career has included some major titles. Including roles in American History X, Remember the Titans, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Butterfly Effect, Road Trip, Deepwater Horizon, John Q, Without a Paddle, and Evolution. He's also continued to work with Kevin Smith on films like Dogma, Chasing Amy, Clerks 2, & Clerks 3.
But Suplee might be most recognized for his television work, especially in the Emmy Award winning series My Name is Earl. In the show he played one of the lead characters, Randy Hickey, the brother of the titular character Earl. Suplee appeared in every episode of the series.
His other TV work includes Twin Peaks, Raising Hope, Jennifer Falls, The Ranch, Chance, Santa Clarita Diet, and Good Girls.
Over the last few years, Suplee has been documenting his weight loss journey online, gaining thousands of followers. Going from his heaviest weight of 530 lbs to his lightest weight of 220 lbs. His personal journey has been documented by Men's Health, People magazine, The Today Show, TMZ, and various other outlets.
Suplee has been described as "jacked" by Men's Health, and has gone viral for his muscular shirtless photos.
You can learn more about Suplee's personal journey through his podcast American Glutton.
