Daredevil And Punisher News That Every Marvel Fan Needs Today

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2's first episode airs on Disney+ on Tuesday March 24th. Early reviews suggest that this is a throwback to the grittiness fans know and love from the Netflix era of the show - which is GREAT to hear. In fact, Marvel believes so much in the show and character, filming for Season 3 is already underway. All positives for fans of the grittier, street-level side of the MCU.

But, ahead of the release of Season 2, Marvel has put out some interesting info regarding the new season of Daredevil and the upcoming Punisher 'one-shot' special.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Release Schedule

There was a lot of speculation leading up to the release of Season 2 about how Marvel was going to schedule the show out. Season 1 saw a lot of two episode releases, a few solo shots, etc.. This morning, Marvel posted an official episode release schedule that also included a little tidbit about the upcoming Punisher special. Below is what put out:

As you can see, this year, we're only getting one week of double releases. Marvel has also confirmed that the Punisher special will immediately follow up Daredevil and come out on May 12th. This is breaking news, because up until this morning, it was widely believed the Punisher special wouldn't come out until the summer either right before or after Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

First Look at the Punisher One-Shot Special

Again, we got our first real look & details about Frank Castle's return in the Punisher One-shot. As mentioned above, it will come out immediately following Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on May 12th. We also learned the official title - The Punisher: One Last Kill. We know this won't be the last we see of the Punisher, as he'll appear in the new Spider-Man movie.

Not much has been released about the new Punisher special. However, Marvel did put out an official synopsis, but there's not a lot to it: "As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight."

What this means for the future of the MCU, I guess we'll find out soon enough. Either way, lots of exciting Marvel news to get excited about! It's going to be a fun spring and summer full of Daredevil, Spider-Man, and the Punisher!
