Join The Fun At Geek Week Before Geekd Con Kicks Off

Geek'd Con 2025 is RIGHT around the corner! It'll be going down at the Shreveport Convention Center August 22-24, 2025 in Downtown Shreveport. And this year's lineup is pretty stellar! Jason Lee, Scott Steiner, Andy Black, Patrick Rena, David Howard, Thornton, John Barrowman, cast members from the original TMNT movies, Mikaela Hover aka Cat Grant from the new Superman movie and a WHOLE lot more!

It's going to be a great weekend. But, Geek'd Con is more than JUST the event itself. Thanks to community support and some WONDERFUL partners, Geek'd Con has expanded into a week long string of events featuring all sorts of fun and entertainment!

Geek Week Returns to the Bear's in Shreveport

Bear's is one of the coolest bars/burger joints in town. Good food and good times make for a great experience. And, over the last few years, Bear's has been hosting all sorts of fantastic events leading up to Geek'd Con.

And, this year, is no different! From Monday 8-18-21, Bear's has all sorts of fun stuff planned leading up to Geek'd Con weekend. Below are some of the amazing events on deck for this year's Geek Week:

• Monday 8/18: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Throwback Night to celebrate the 90s and original movies.
• Tuesday 08/19: Cosplay Karaoke
• Wednesday 08/20: Canadian Punk Invasion Night
• Thursday 08/21: The 5th Annual Wizard's Ball. On top of a "Wizard themed" party atmosphere, there will be bingo! Should be a fantastic night of magic and fun.

Robinson Film Center's Freak Out & Movie Screenings

Over the last couple of years, the Robinson Film Center has partnered with Geek'd Con for some special events. Last year, they hosted a screening of ET with stars of the movie and this year, the Robinson is expanding the good times with special screenings and events:

• On August 22nd at 7 PM, it's the Official Friday Night Afterparty - A Terrifying Friday Night Freak-Out! starring David Howard Thornton & Samantha Scaffidi! There will be a cosplay contest, themed snack and cocktails, door prizes, and more! Should be a GREAT time!
• From August 15-21, The Robinson will be showing the 35th Anniversary edition of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie!
• From August 16-24, they'll be screening Mallrats on the big screen!

Cosplay Rave at the Newly Reopened Capri!

The Capri Theater in Downtown Shreveport is historic and beautiful. And, for the first time in over 20 years, the Capri will be opening on a regular basis! And, as part of their massive relaunch, they'll be home to the official Saturday Night after party - Cos-Kira! Ultimate Cosplay Rave!

The party will be jumping with an amazing night of cosplay, club energy, lasers, anime visuals, and some of the best DJs you can find. Including nationally touring KPop DJ Baeritoki.

The is a 17+ event, but will require ID at the door. It is a ticketed event as well, you can buy in advance now, including VIP tickets. Get all the info on tickets here.

Cosplay is highly encouraged, but not required. This event will feature a massive laser show with anime visuals, with "festival grade" sound, plenty of room for dancing, all in a safe, clean, and secure venue.
