Shreveport’s Geek’d Con Welcomes Pokémon Voice Actor Marc Thompson
North Louisiana is about to become the epicenter of nerd culture once again. Geek'd Con is officially locked in for August 14th through the 16th, 2026. Geek'd is bringing another massive pop culture footprint back to the Shreveport Convention Center.
For over a decade, this homegrown event has provided the Ark-La-Tex with a world-class convention experience right in its own backyard. Fans can expect a jam-packed weekend filled with celebrity meet-and-greets, exclusive merch, and a community atmosphere that rivals the biggest shows in the country.

The Voice Of Gengar Is Coming To Shreveport
There are a lot of fandoms who will be excited for this one. Marc Thompson is officially joining the guest lineup for Geek'd Con 2026! But we're going to focus on one very particular one...Pokémon.
Thompson is a voice actor known for his work in the Pokémon animated series. He provided the voice for the Ghost-type Pokémon Gengar, as well as the Fire-type starter Tepig, Legendary Pokémon Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem.
The version of Gengar that Thompson is responsible for is a very particular one, because it's the Gengar that belongs to Ash Ketchum.
In the 2003 animated series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", Thompson voiced the vigilante Casey Jones. He portrayed the hockey-mask-wearing ally of the Turtles across multiple seasons of the show, and numerous video games.
Thompson works in the "Star Wars" universe as an audiobook narrator. He has voiced novels in both the 'Legends' continuity and current canon, narrating the "Thrawn" series, and voicing characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn.
He has been a consistent presence in the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" franchise for years. Providing a range of character voices including Duke Devlin and Valon in "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters", Chazz Princeton in "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX", and Astral in "Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal".
Thompson began his voice acting career on the MTV animated series "Daria", where he voiced the quarterback Kevin Thompson. His additional television credits include the villain Don Krieg in the 4Kids dub of "One Piece", Cobra Commander in "G.I. Joe: Sigma 6", and Megatron in "Transformers: Cyberverse".
This isn't even ALL of Marc's resume...but Pokémon, Star Wars, TMNT, One Piece, GI Joe, and Transformers seems like a good start.
