Horror Icon Walter Phelan Announced for Geek’d Con 2026
Shreveport’s premier pop culture event, Geek'd Con, is officially set to return to the Shreveport Convention Center this summer. The 11th installment of the massive three-day convention will take place in Downtown Shreveport from August 14th through the 16th, 2026.
The event serves as the largest gathering of its kind in North Louisiana, and one of the biggest in the whole state. Geek'd Con offers a weekend of celebrity appearances, professional photo ops, and a massive vendor market. It continues to be the primary destination for fans of film, television, and comic books to gather for a professional convention experience.
Dr. Satan Is Coming To Shreveport
Geek'd Con is adding to the horror royalty coming to Shreveport this August with the addition of the terrifyingly talented Walter Phelan!
A master of extensive prosthetic makeup and creature acting, Walter is a legend in the horror community. He is best known for bringing one of the genre's most iconic modern villains to life: the surgical nightmare Dr. Satan. First appearing in Rob Zombie's cult classic, House of 1000 Corpses, Dr. Sfatan has become the focus of lore building around Rob Zombie's work.
For fans who want to step into the Murder Ride themselves, Walter will be offering exclusive in-costume photo ops as Dr. Satan all weekend long!
Beyond his work with Rob Zombie, Walter has an incredible resume of creature and monster roles. He played one of the terrifying main demons in the beloved 90s horror hit Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight.
Sci-fi fans will also recognize his work on the iconic series The X-Files, where he stepped into the prosthetics to play one of the most memorable aliens in the franchise during the Season 6 episode 'The Unnatural'.
His long career of special effects, stunts, and creature acting also includes notable appearances bringing monsters to life in hit shows like Charmed and Goosebumps.
Don't miss your chance to meet Walter, get an autograph, and survive a photo op with Dr. Satan himself!
