After a big comeback year in 2021, Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con is ready to continue to build on their success in 2022. Geek'd Con is set to return August 19th-21st at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Before the pandemic, Geek'd Con had become one of the biggest pop culture events in the region. With guests like Michael Rooker, LeVar Burton, Elvira, Peter Mayhew, Chris Sarandon, and more. During the 2021 comeback show, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Alice Cooper was live in Shreveport to help welcome the event back.

Now it's time for 2022.

The first guest announcement for Geek'd Con 2022 is All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Darby Allin.

Allin is known as one of the "Four Pillars of AEW", meaning he's one of the four young stars who the future of the company will be built on. During his AEW career, Darby has quickly become a massive fan-favorite, generating huge merchandise sales, as well as plenty of face paint in the audience during live shows.

In AEW, Allin currently holds the record for longest title reign with the TNT Championship, which lasted for 186 days. Even though he only held the title once, his title reign is long enough to also hold the record for longest combined title reigns as well.

In 2021, Pro Wrestling Illustrated named Darby Allin as the 14th best wrestler in the world in their PWI 500 list. That ranked him ahead of major stars like Chris Jericho (#19), Kazuchika Okada (#25), AJ Styles (#35), Daniel Bryan (#36), Adam Cole (#37), and Seth Rollins (#48).

Now, Darby Allin will be heading to Shreveport in 2022 for Geek'd Con!

Comic Book Movie Stars Who Have Worked In Shreveport

We utilized IMDB's filming location database to help put this together. However there is one movie listed there that we didn't include. IMDB lists X-Men Origins: Wolverine on their Shreveport list, but we struggled to find citing for this. So we just left it off. Some of these stars weren't in comic book "movies" specifically.

But we counted the Netflix Marvel shows, and MCU Disney+ shows as well.

We also added in an odd option...pro wrestlers. Pro wrestling has been a big deal in the Shreveport area for a long time, so we're going to include the wrestlers who've worked in the Shreveport area, and went on to comic book movie fame.
