Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is set to return August 19th-21st at the Shreveport Convention Center. The 2022 Geek'd Con will be the 7th show in Downtown Shreveport since 2015.

Geek'd Con is Shreveport's version of events like San Diego Comic Con or Dallas Fan Expo. It's a huge event to celebrate fandoms in the Ark-La-Tex. You will be able to shop from hundreds of vendor booths, participate in cosplay contests, win prizes, and hang out with friends.

Inside the event, you will find retail vendors, crafters, writers, artists, and celebrities representing fandoms from horror movies to anime, and everything in between. Not to mention the major comic book artists from Marvel, DC, and Scout Comics, who will be doing custom artwork that weekend.

There will also be a huge week-long set of events surrounding Geek'd Con as well.

One of the biggest parts of the event is the celebrity lineup. Celebrity guests from film, TV, and the internet will descend upon Shreveport to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. You can find more info on that process right here.

Now we have yet another celebrity to add to this impressive lineup. A returning guest is coming back to Geek'd Con this year. One that has become a fan-favorite over the last few years.

Sam J. Jones is coming back to Shreveport this August.

Jones is best known for his role as Flash Gordon in the movie...Flash Gordon. The film was a moderate box office success when it was released in 1980, but gained cult icon status since. The fandom over the movie led to Sam finding his way in the Ted franchise. (there might be some NSFW language in this movie clip)...

Sam appeared in Ted and Ted 2 as himself, but an exaggerated version. Which sent a whole new generation to search out Flash Gordan, and reignite the movies cult status.
