Townsquare Media of Casper is pleased to announce that the Beartrap Summer Festival is back for its 18th year! This year’s festival on August 6th and 7th will feature headliner Taj Mahal plus an exciting line-up of bluegrass bands and some brand new events.

Two-time Grammy winner Taj Mahal has been a staple of the American blues and roots music scene for over four decades. He weaves together countless musical threads including the Mississippi Delta, the Appalachian backwoods, the Hawaiian Islands, Europe, the Caribbean, and more. Taj Mahal doesn’t just stand at the crossroads of music – he is the crossroads.

Other Festival performers include regionally and nationally known bands such as Long Road Home (with “Dr. Banjo” Pete Werenick), Reverend Peyton and the Big Damn Band, Boulder Acoustic Society, Spring Creek, Haunted Windchimes, and others to be announced. Joining them are three Wyoming favorites, Jalan Crossland, the Dang Ol’ Boys, and John Kirlin and the High Plains Drifters.

Beartrap will once again include an open-air marketplace full of arts, crafts, and more; a wide variety of tempting foods from cold drinks and snacks to hot meals; a supervised children’s area with arts and crafts projects; a pickin’ tent where local musicians can jam with each other; and workshops taught by guest musicians. New this year is Beartrap Down From the Mountain -- a Saturday evening concert at The Attic in downtown Casper featuring a selection of performers from the main Festival.

TownSquare Media of Casper, the Natrona County Roads, Bridges and Parks Department, and the McMurry Foundation are proud to once again partner together to sponsor the Beartrap Summer Festival.
