Planet of the Apes Star Joins Geek’d Con Lineup
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.
Tickets for this year's Geek'd Con are available right now. You can get yours here.
Since 2015, Geek'd Con has been the premiere pop culture event in the Ark-La-Tex. It's also the largest event of its kind in North Louisiana, and the biggest comic con style event in all of Louisiana...outside of New Orleans.
The guest lineup will include the stars of historic blockbuster E.T. Henry Thomas and Dee Wallace, the voice of Master Chief from the Halo video game franchise Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, John C. McGinley from Scrubs (and a bunch of other great movies), and many more incredibly talented celebrities.
The most recent addition to the lineup is an actor who is having an incredible 2024. Kevin Durand will be joining Geek'd Con in Shreveport for 2024.
Durand starred in two wildly successful 2024 films, playing the lead antagonist Proximus Caesar in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes as well as Peter in the horror hit Abigail.
His comic book credentials include playing The Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Floronic Man in DC Universe's Swamp Thing.
He starred as Vasiliy Fet in the series The Strain, The Wanderer in Vikings, Frederick Gideon in Locke & Key, Martin Keamy in Lost, Tucker in 3:10 to Yuma, Red in Wild Hogs, Jeeves in Smokin' Aces, and Little John in Russell Crowe's Robin Hood.
His horror credits include portraying Gabriel in Legion, Barry Burton in Resident Evil: Retribution, and Walter in The Echo.
In the world of sci-fi, you've seen him as Ricky in Real Steel, Joshua in Dark Angel, Lord Zipacna in Stargate SG-1, and he's voiced Anssi in Pantheon and King Zarkon in Voltron: Legendary Defender.
You've also seen Kevin in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Mystery Alaska, Walking Tall, Citizen Gangster, Cosmopolis, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Ballers, and Touching Evil.
Oh, Kevin will also appear in the next installment of The Naked Gun franchise.
Having all of these stars at Geek'd Con gives you the ability to get autographs in person, and also your chance to get pictures with those celebrities. Most celebrities are all about taking selfies at their booths, but they also give you the chance to have a professional photo taken too.
